Verizon a Proud Sponsor of the 2nd Annual Constitution Day Gala, Hosted by the Constitutional Sources Project (ConSource) on September 16 at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

Randy Milch, Verizon executive president and general counsel, saluted teachers and underscored the importance of celebrating the Constitution, noting "...the exceptional success our constitutional form of government has had in binding us together across nearly three centuries of blinding societal and technological changes."

Mr. Milch also set the stage for an engaging presentation and discussion, when he introduced the evening's distinguished speakers, Walter Dellinger, former acting solicitor general of the United States, who spoke about the ratification debates and the enduring significance of the Constitution, and Paul Clement, former solicitor general of the United States who spoke on the unanswered question of judicial review.

Students from law schools across the country watched the event via live webcast and were given the opportunity to text and e-mail questions that Mr. Dellinger and Mr. Clement answered during a Q & A session.

The Constitution Day Gala also included an education summit, where teachers learned about the free online resources available onThinkfinity.org and ConSource.org.
