Verizon Scholarship Program Announces 2008 Recipients
Verizon is proud to support our employees and their families by helping young students make a college education a reality.
Verizon scholarships are highly competitive and are based on financial need, academic performance and extracurricular leadership activities. Applications are reviewed and evaluated by Scholarship America, which also selects the winners.
Scholarship grants are awarded only to children of Verizon employees who plan to attend four-year colleges and universities.
Only 250 students were selected out of over 1450 applications received. Our scholarship recipients will study at some of the finest colleges and universities in America - like Brown University, Stanford University, Northwestern University, University of Michigan, Smith College, Howard University, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
