Volunteering

Verizon employees are the heart of our philanthropic endeavors. In 2007, our employees volunteered more than 485,000 hours supporting thousands of causes in neighborhoods throughout the country.

The Verizon Foundation values the talents and generosity of our employees. Whether supporting one of our key initiatives - education and literacy or safety and health - or selecting a different cause that they care deeply about - we applaud the efforts of our employees and are here to assist them and celebrate the work they do to enhance our communities through our key Volunteer programs.

  • Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP)
Do you volunteer for the PTA? Tutor children or adults? Coach soccer? Raise money for community organizations?

The Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) recognizes employees' contribution of time and talent to nonprofit organizations. Under this program, employees are eligible to apply for a grant on behalf of the qualified organization where they volunteered 50 hours or more during the year. The Foundation rewards these employee volunteers with a $750 check for presentation to the designated organization. Employees may request VIP grants on behalf of two separate organizations for a total of $1,500 each year.

  • Volunteer Connections
Are you interested in giving back to your local community through volunteering? Do you need some help to get started?

The Verizon Foundation now provides Verizon employees with access to hundreds of volunteer opportunities from our non-profit partners through our Volunteer Connections online searchable database.

If you know any 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations or NCES public schools looking to recruit Verizon employee volunteers, please have them visit http://foundation.verizon.com/requestvolunteers to submit their opportunities for other employees to get involved as volunteers.
